The Pacific will pacify us when we're done

Well... there is not much going on at the moment so I might as well just make some stuff up to suit my own agenda and sell a few blog posts to the mugs... oh wait – no, the media has beaten me to it!

In that case there is something going on at Arsenal to blog about - I'll just bitch about the media... is that irony?

The campaign continues – the other day the current bun ran an article penned by Mark Irwin on Hleb, quoting that he said all sorts of defamatory shit about Wenger and Fabregas.  This story was carefully constructed to cause maximum outrage in the fan base and a maximum destabilisation in the dressing room, check it out:

"Hleb's new Gunners blast" – synopsis: can we all please just agree that Hleb is a cunt yeah?

Where as Hleb immediately denied it:

Let's consider a moment some of the other Sun gems that have crawled onto the sports pages over the last 10 days and put this into the perspective of what their motives might be:

"Gunners exodus worry for Sag" – synopsis: Arsenal are shit... yeah? Sinking ship. Blah. Get onto your agent.

"Robin gets up close Van Pers-onal" – synopsis: Van-Persie is a homosexual... or just very confident in his sexuality (I can't actually work this one out).

"Aaron reveals his dark secret" – synopsis: Aaron Ramsay actually thinks Man-u are way better than Arsenal despite snubbing them.

"Arsenal hit by Gael warning" – synopsis: All agents that represent Arsenal players; cash in while you can!

"Manu wants 400% pay increase" – All Arsenal players must call their agents now and cash in while they can!  And by the way all you Arsenal fans should really hate him, I mean – just look at his smug fucking face, no 'respect' init or something (Meanwhile the Sun's fat hero Lampard gets a 'totally deserved' £140,000 a week).

Enough – I could go on and on!  I would encourage anyone with the slightest interest in football to boycott this divisive little gutter-rag at their earliest convenience... this is something that I admire the population of Merseyside immensely for – never forget, rip it up and burn it... talking of which i.e. the 88/89 season – have you seen the new away kit?  I have heard a lot of people slating it but I think it's a corker... it brings back memories of Michael Thomas breaking Hansen's cold black heart in the last minute of the last game of the season... hey - maybe that's why he hates Arsenal so much?  Maybe that's why he (and the Sun) laid into Gallas so heavily when he decided to sit on the St. Andrews turf in the despair and injustice of a tragic day of a tragic season... painful memories indeed.

The media frustrates me in many ways, not just because of the unified hate campaign against Arsenal, that has strengthened over the last few seasons, for having the audacity to not sell out to the Murdoch Empire and/or bookmaking industry (yet) but also because of the unified web of lies and utter disrespect it has for its consumers.  We are here as mere fucking livestock while the big boys muscle it out for their own personal agendas... the next time you pick up a paper or watch the news, think to yourself... is this actually news or am I just being distracted, pacified and isolated from a better life?

The other day a 'news' story caught my ear on the BBC – some celebrity married/shagged some other celebrity (in the celebrity world of 1+1=3 a gestalt celebrity was born) and produced a child (which became one with and inherited celebrity status from the gestalt whole 1+1+1=5).  The news was that the child had finally been given a name... a stupid fucking name (more stupid = more 'special') at that – so, what... was I supposed to be on the edge of my seat here waiting for the next spoilt brat fuck-nasty cocaine Hoover to be issued with a moniker?

"Family, come quick – they are about to announce the name of the newest Celebrity!  Gather round!!" - Dogface

One day all news will be 'celebrity news' and the real issues of the world that absolutely, directly effect you will be kept well outside of your cosy little bubble.  Your kids will just accept it because you tolerated it like a good little piggy.

Call yourself an 'individual' - ha!?  Don't say that I didn't warn you!

Anyway – back to Arsenal and football.  The Celebrification of football players by the media is a device that is pushed onto targeted players directly or the perception of that player indirectly; it is a device that, if accepted, can not only sell a lot of media product but it can also exert an element of control on that particular player for a hidden/obvious agenda i.e. certain expectations can be built in the player (direct), fans and club (indirect) with a few well aimed half truths and outright lies.

"...I gotta make my move, 'cause I'm a renegade
I recognise when mind techniques are being played
It's a plot they use to keep down another
Here comes another brainwashed brother..." - Ice-T

So before you all start slagging off Hleb, Adebayor and Wenger (and whoever's next on the hit list) and bang on about how Arsenal is falling apart and why isn't anyone doing anything – try to think back and remember where these thoughts came from.  It isn't 'common sense' and it isn't even 'your' opinion – it was constructed from the chaotic flood of information and disinformation that has been targeted to isolate you from your actual opinion.

Do not accept it and think – what are the real issues with Arsenal?  What should actually concern me here?  Let me remind a few of you of the facts as there are some who seem to have lost the plot:
  • We were cheated out of the Premiership title last season (call it a conspiracy or call it business).
  • We were (and continue to be) the victim of a directed media smear/destabilisation campaign (try to think back at just how angry you were watching MOTD or listening to that little cock-sucker of a commentator blow smoke up the referee's arse).
  • We have the likes of Stan Kronke (and hence the bookmaking industry) gaining a seat on the board.
  • We have the personification of Jabba the Hutt and his cackling minion (David Dein) attempting to mount a hostile takeover of our club.
  • We have the best team on the planet.
  • We have the best manager on the planet.
  • The newspapers are lying to you.
  • The pundits are lying to you.
  • The agents are lying to you.
  • The moneymen are lying to you.
This coming season is going to be important for Arsenal in many ways... the question is – how will we play the game?

Oh yeah - *Arsenal News* – we just signed Nasri... but you already knew that.
