The wall-to-wall is calling, it lingers, then you forget

The Grauniad (as my dad always used to call it when I were a lad as it was his regular rag of choice) posted this interesting story today:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/nov/07/premierleague-arsenal

Now this story is interesting in many ways – firstly Wenger comes out and accuses the refs of targeting Arsenal unfairly and then this rare nugget slips out which states: “Bookies savour Arsenal failure”. So we have:

1) The referees are targeting Arsenal in key matches.
2) Bookies make a killing out of Arsenal under-performing in key matches.

Hmmm… shit – man, this is a toughie, I have 2 right and I need to put it together with another 2 – so, if I put 2 and 2 together it makes... hmm – I think I need some help from the Numberjacks (my daughters’ second favourite program on CBeebies):

“Brain gain, brain gain
Get together use our brains,
Time to get your brains all linking,
Up together,
Joined up thinking”

By crikey I think I understand now!

The article then goes on to point out that the mug money is on United... and the bookies will hope and prey to their bookie gods of back-handers and brown paper bungs tied up with string that Arsenal can ‘do them another favour’ and cause an upset. Whether this is true or not; I don’t know – but, given the early odds - I suspect it is. The smart money will land late – it always does.

Hmmm… I wonder who the ref is?

Oh my giddy fucking aunt it’s only Howard fucking Webb!!!

This game is going to be bent as they come... but I still think it’s risky as the mancs have a good squad and will want to win – I would sell manure on the A/H... alternatively get on the high side on the yellows and a sneaky fiver on a red.

Wait until the morning papers though and try to work out where they want your cash to go – then oppose it. It’s been a Manu/Arsenal media circus the last few days with various articles pushing this as a ‘must win’ match... Arsenal have been undersold in the media – and the pictures tell it all i.e. looks of despair on Arsenal players faces Vs pictures of a happy, smiling Ronaldo/Rooney and articles stating that Rooney is going to ‘put us to the sword’... we have been undersold but not written off (as Liverpool were in the Chelsea match) – so maybe a draw then?

Back to that article:

“The layers will be hoping Arsène Wenger's side can do them another favour tomorrow against Manchester United, only this time they want them to beat their visitors rather than slip up.”

It has to be said, and I have said it before, that despite the decisions made by the ref; we are giving some of these games away (i.e. the ones in favour of the bookies) and ‘slipping up’ far too easily. In seasons past we would have battled against the odds to get the result – of course, it didn’t come to anything as the pitch would be tilted and the run of bad decisions simply increased to match and cancel out the extra effort. This season is different – and I suspect that we may be treading a murky path... and, if I am correct – then what will that do for our title aspirations?

Currently we are 20-1... so, worth a couple of quid... you can always lay it off if the odds shorten before the end of the season (I suspect that they will).

I could be wrong though – I often am... one thing is for sure - my eyes are open and I’m watching my team very, very carefully.

As an aside - was the Guardian ever a good paper and why did my dad stop reading it... I know he always regarded himself as a bit of a socialist. He would even take us on weekend days out to Highgate cemetery to peek in on Karl Marx’s grave, feed squirrels and fly kites in the adjacent park... he used to mumble something about Marx although I nerver took very much notice. Now all I see around London are fly-posters of Marx with the same sort of mumbles on them.

Maybe the Guardian lost it's 'socialist' heart along with it's spelling errors - or maybe my dad's now a just a signed up a capitalist - I can't decide... things change with time - like football.

We'll call it a draw I think... 2-2.

Half man half machine, what does it mean, what does it mean?

It was quite a good game last night – ok, we didn’t smash Fenerbahce – but it was nice to see a competitive match... well – 70 minutes of competition before the team ran out of puff and settled on a point (much to Wenger’s disapproval). They had a charmed goal last night and I have to say that they defended well and their keeper had a great game. Robin van Persie had a great game too... although he didn’t score – he did everything but.

Although, in the last 20 minutes I felt the game was smothered by the ref somewhat and we missed out on a couple of goal scoring opportunities because of it, would it have made a difference?

Probably not.

I opted for club level in the end as the view is better and the beer available and free. Tamzin Outhwaite sat behind me with Tom Ellis (I think), they have been at every game that I’ve sat up there (and there have been some obscure ones) - they are among the few that make any noise, so I guess that they are ok for *celebrities*. Oh - It was her birthday apparently. Another ‘face’ that is always there is Dara O'Briain – you should see him inhale a pie at half time – 3 bites and the fecker is gone... being Irish - I wonder why he supports Arsenal? I'm not saying that there are no Irish gooners - but its rare (we have more Malaysian and Nigerian gooners than Scottish or Irish) as the is no sectarian history with the club... perhaps that, in itself, is reason enough - or maybe it's just his local team.

*UPDATE*

In a pub conversation; dhjackal (resident Irishman) informs me that 'there are loads' of Irish gooners due to the days of Brady, O'Leary and Stapleton... but 'any fecker wid any sense followed United'.

*END UPDATE*

While I was watching last night; I kept thinking that Roberto Carlos looked fat and past it... I checked his stats in the programme and found out he was actually 1 day younger than me – man; that hurt!

The only negatives last night I could find were that Bendtner and Nasri were having very bad games – it looked like they were stoned half the time or had been out on a massive bender the night before – I don’t think they have got any excuses for not being sharp especially considering the game we have on Saturday.

So all in all last night was frustrating and ultimately a little disappointing but for a laugh click here:

Or here:

Sad fuckers… apparently they need the money to buy some new headphones or something. I’m tempted to go for the shirt and get Harry to sign it in a creative manner.

“Tottenham are shit” – Harry Redknapp

If the price was right - I bet he would do it too!

*WENGER WATCH*

Arsene Wenger has come out and stated the obvious i.e. the refs are bent:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/7712255.stm

Although this story was quickly smothered by the manager of Shitkicker FC, Tony Pulis, stating that he was really worried that his nice bunch of brave and plucky lads might get ‘unfair treatment’ because of the nasty Mr Wenger putting a hex on them...

The man is taking the piss:

“People in general can be swayed if they're not watching you play and what you are trying to achieve. They read the papers and unfortunately a lot of people believe what they read. Sometimes the truth is a long, long way away from what people are actually saying.”

One wonders what he sees when he looks in the mirror...

Pulis, you should have laid off Walcott – it will come back to haunt you as now Delap (your 1 trick pony) can be red carded at will with the commentators smoothing over any cracks in the decision with the opiate words:

“the man who [intentionally] injured Theo Walcott”

To the sage nodding of the watching populous... whether it be fair or, indeed, foul. Get used to this chant:

“What’s that coming over the hill? It’s relegation! It’s relegation!”

Oh and while you are doing that; check your match schedule boys and have a look at just who will be sending you down and pounding the final nail in your coffin in the final 'nail biting', 'to the wire' game of the season.

...Hmmm...

Of course this story was then smothered by the bigger story of Alex Ferguson being charged for pointing out to Mike Dean that he is in fact a bell end... one has to wonder at the timing of this. A recent conversation in a ASI discussion thread got me thinking:

ASI_EuroGooner wrote 3 hours ago
"I think arsenal are at their best when people write them off, when they're not expected to win or do well or whatever.Cause then they play without pressure as everyone expects them to lose anyways...it happened last season, even before the season started, we were written off, we all know how that went 4 pts off the leaders and robbed in the champions league. It happened when we played AC milan, people thought kaka, gattuso etc. etc. would give our young guns a lesson in football...of course that didn't happen either. what I'm trying to say here is we play well when we have no weight of expectation on our backs so go ahead...write off THE ARSENAL cause that's how they like it best.but don't be surprised if we pull of an upset against the mancs and make the likes of rooney, berbatov, ronaldo, giggs etc."

DogFace replied 3 hours ago
"More to the point - we are allowed to play well when the weight of gambling liquidity isn't on our backs...

Think about it."

So... with SAF safely bound and gagged and Arsenal written off in the media as 'injury ridden' and 'spineless' – I wonder where the money is going this w/e?

I’ll be watching the back pages very carefully over the next few days...

...I suggest you do the same.

And, as if by magic... as I was typing, look what just appeared:

C'mon yous reds!

I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like

Firstly, apologies for no post- Stoke entry. I have man flu... *cough* - it's a bit like man-u except you get better and feel good about yourself after a few days.

So Stoke, Stoke, Stoke... well, were do I start, and more importantly, where do I stop - de-ja-vu weren't it?

Stoke kicked the shit out of us.

Now I don't have a lot of time for Rob Styles as a ref and in the previous post I did suggest that this might be a bent an physical match - but come on... what the fuck was that all about? Did the Stoke players (who look like they have spent some time on a building site) promise build him a right nice brick BBQ/Gazebo if he let them kick the living shit out of all the foreign darkie southerner jessies?

Stoke are new to the premiership, and they require points, I realise, but they are going down. They are the shit-kicker extraordinaire of a side who:

a) isn't wanted here
b) doesn't belong here

Ok- Delap can throw it... but, against all other teams it ends there. Against Arsenal - as we have seen season after season, we go out to play football and the referees allow what is basically aggravated assault on our players. This, for me, it the corruption in the EPL at it's most blatantly obvious.

But, again, we prick our ears for the commentator to say something in our defence after the 9th straight-red challenge goes in only to have Styles wag his finger a bit.. but no - we hear shit like:

"He was absolutely entitled to go for that ball"

This, as a statement in and of itself removed from the context of what actually happened is valid... however - when this, quite unbelievable, drivel of lies and apologies drips over the absolutely fucking obvious like dogshit sprinkels on a Mr. Whippy; it beggars belief, to me, that 90% of people will actually buy/eat it?!

And what about that mugging on Adebayor when he was off the feild of play? What do we get:

"oh,well he made absolutely sure didn't he"

What- 'absolutely sure' that he injured him or put the ball into touch as he was going nowhere near the fucking ball (that was already in touch)!?

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? WAKE UP YOU THICK CUNTS!

Yes, 'Shitkicker-A' was entitled to go for 'Ball' in the game that is called 'football' - however it is not within the rules for Shitcker-A to tackle from behind, straight legged, studs up and take his opponents fucking ankles out. That's actually called an infringement of the rules. It is not, as the Media would condescend to tell you (because you're all obviously too fucking thick to wipe your own arse without Sky telling you to 'check your y-fronts for skid marks because something smells a bit shitty around here'); a brave, gutsy display of commitment and 'heart'...

...Sorry - just had to vomit there...

When Kid-A kicks the shit out of Kid-B for his lunch money we don't slap Kid-A on the back and say:

"well done lad, that was a brave show of heart - you exposed Kid'B's 'frailty' and he fucking deserved it"

Bullying isn't football - I don't care how fucking northern you are.

Conversely, Arsenal were painted as being 'frail', 'lacking spine' and 'maturity', 'top tier totty', 'soft underbelly' and let's not forget, the 'soft touch of the big four' - these worm-ridden platitudes are intended for you to repeat down the pub with your mates - thus giving credence to the lies.

The sports 'journalists' who chug out this shite should be fucking ashamed of themselves... in a desperate effort to apologise and cover up for what was obvious for all to see i.e. a corrupt and fixed game of football; they write nothing but positives and praise for Stoke and nothing but negatives and derision for Arsenal... this is possibly also a way of selling future corruptions i.e. look Arsenal are frail, they are disunited, they will never win anything, believe me, repeat... these aren't the droids you're looking for.

A few of them have painted Wenger as 'a man obsessed' with playing decent football... well - hmm... so he's a nutter because he's a football manager who wants to win by playing the best football he can?

Expect the 'Wenger is a deluded nutter' line to be span out all season long to undermine any observations and/or facts that he shares with the media in his press conferences. You will read it and you will believe it and you will say to your mates down the pub:

"we need more experience - why doesn't Wenger spend some money, these aren't the droids we're looking for!".

If truth be told, in a match like the Stoke match - we could have Jackie Chan and a crack SAS squad across the midfield and defence and we would still have the shit kicked out of us... after all, a boot is a boot and an ankle is an ankle - unfortunately football isn't football.

Not one of the 'respected journalists' points out that Stoke should have had 6 players sent off... where as what actually happened was that Robin van Persie got sent of for a petulant shove... straight red no less - where as the several potential career ending 'tackles' (deliberate violent assaults) that went it didn't even warrant a yellow in the eyes of Styles? No, no - the Stoke lot are brave and have heart... well - I ask the Stoke players to try that shit on with Man U and Chelsea and see what the ref fucking gives you... and what the media gives you. You will be painted as dirty, violent, talentless, shitkickers which, make no mistake - is what you are. And what was with all the Stoke fans - jesus, if I was supporting a team that was a dead cert for relegation I would at least like to see a few good games before we went down.

"at least we beat Arsenal" - the sad deluded, shitkicking fuckers will tell themselves... with their stupid fucking hats.

Does nobody remember Eduardo... there's more at stake here that 3 points!?

Stoke fans - your team is the equivalent of Hacketts abused scrap yard rottie, and when you have served your purpose you will be put down without so much as a pat on the head and a bonio for the road.

When are Stoke coming to the Emirates - I am so fucking angry with them!? Divert the coach and send those cunts to Hackney Marshes instead... I know a few boys who would bung the ref some beer tokens to give them a good game. Things are going to kick off big time in the return leg if they are allowed to get away with that at the Emirates...

Still Wenger's reaction confused me - he seemed quite unusually calm and seemed to suggest that this was the 'English game'... we can read into that what we wish; I think possibly a nod towards the ESL with matches like this only adding fuel to his cause - The EPL is a dying brand, it's turned itself inside out and revealed the rotten core - does anyone really believe in this league it any more as a fair and open competition?

Last season Wenger would have been livid, slagging off Styles and facing a fine and a touchline ban. What is Wenger up to? Post the 'derby dissapointment' match he made the cryptic statement in response to the title bid:

"We know the truth on the inside and that is not what has been projected on the outside. We know what we have to do."

This is a different Wenger and a different Arsenal.

Man, as an aside - I'm typing this while watching the Liverpool V Atletico match... what a fucking joke of a penalty - does anybody take this game seriously? I like Gerrard... but - he's a little cheating fucker in a Liverpool shirt - make a note of that ref! Gah - where can I find the ref - BBC have taken it down... and none of these post match talking heads are giving his name out?! Why.

Ahhg... got dragged into a 606 discussion about Wengers delayed response to the Stoke match - maybe he had man-flu too, he nailed it. I need not continue... you know, It depresses me the modern day fan - watching them in the kop in the Liverpool game as Gerrard took his 'penalty' - all looking nervous as if it meant something... in their scalfs... and hats.

Sad deluded losers... like me.

Right - I'm off to defend Wenger on 606!

Oh.. it appears that:

"This article has been temporarily hidden, because a member of our Moderation Team has referred it to the Community Team for a decision as to whether it contravenes the House Rules in some way. We will do everything we can to ensure that a decision is made as quickly as possible."

Whoops, my fault.

FYI - the ref was 'Mariano Pernia'... hang on, isn't that the area between the cunt and the arsehole?

...no - that's perineum, but close enough for me.

*UPDATE* - my mistake Pernia was the player, the Ref was 'Martin Hansson' - curse you BBC's 'as-it-happened' text feed!

I'll meet you on the other side, I'll meet you in the light

I'm still pissed off about Wednesday night but I'm starting to calm down now... it was a bizarre day and night and the whole thing is going to take a while to settle in. I meant every word I said – that was the anger I felt immediately after the match. I live 3 minutes from my seat so I got the laptop out the second I got home and vented it.

This is, in a way, is the pain of supporting Arsenal... although this was a new type of pain to me.

I know that Wenger has done a lot for our club and I understand and have to accept the way he works... although part and parcel of that is that Wenger is in it entirely for himself – this is no bad thing as his motivations are for the good of the club – he wants to play the best football, he want's to keep the club economically viable and he wants the team and the club to win trophies... above all, it seems, he want's to change the face of football, not for us – for him and Arsenal is his symbiotic vehicle. This is diametrically opposed to the parasitic type of 'self motivation' that can be laid at the feet of Harry Redknapp and his style of football management.

For this reason Arsené is a living Arsenal legend up there with the likes of Chapman and he deserves his bronze bust and future pubs in and around the area to be named after him.

What I have heard from many supporters of the club over the last few days is the desperate need to rationalise and deny the events of Wednesday night... a popular and recurring theme is that foreign players do not recognise the importance of a derby match. This is not true... Henry, for instance, absolutely knew the importance of the games against Tottenham – one of my favourite pictures if of him sliding on his knees at the Tottenham crowd, his face exploding with adrenaline; giving each and every one of them the eyeball. Despite the fact that he was one man and they were the epitome of the 'angry mob' (and the Tottenham mob isn't shy do dish out a bit of violence) – he shone out with invincibility and they all knew that they were beaten. It was real and happening. You can see in the picture that some of them, grown men, are crying... this is the beauty of tragedy – his brilliance was undeniable and in the face of it the mob were left mute, atomised and powerless to touch him.

That's what the north London derby means to the fans – and this is the tribal nature of football. This is the soul of our game and this point of crossover from our animal instinct to our human reason is the essence of enlightened competition. This is something that anyone can understand regardless of their nationality or upbringing. I work with English, Nigerian, French and Chinese Arsenal fans and English, American, Israeli Tottenham fans and they all understand and subscribe to the importance of the derby. These are the people we work with, the people we see every day and when the season ends these are the people that we have to rationalise, compare and brag about the relative merits of our game. If we win nothing this season then at least we can say that we gave Tottenham hiding that they were due (and vice versa)... although sadly – these days I seem to work with as many Manchester United and Liverpool fans as I do Tottenham and Arsenal... strangely – not many Chelsea fans though as they all seem to drive white vans and taxi cabs for a living.

I had a dream Wednesday night, a strange dream; I dreamt that I took two new born babies out of my freezer to thaw – they were twins and one was stillborn and resigned to death while the other became animated and returned to life as I poured warm water over him – he had a strength that wouldn't die and wanted to live to be with me.

I don't know what that means... but I know it means something.

Before the game I met up with PieFace and various members of the Intelligentsia group in the Herbert Chapman for some beer and singing. The place was alive and heaving; the bouncers were checking everyone for colours (something that they don't normally do in the Chapman on match day as it's so deep in Arsenal territory), I was greeted with:

"Are you To… I, Err - Are you Arsenal? Show me your shirt!"

The Bouncer, and enormous skinhead form somewhere Eastern Europe, realised that he nearly accused me of being 'Tottenham' but, besides towering over me (and I'm 6 foot & 14 stone) and having 3 geezers as backup stood behind him; he looked appologetic, nervous and looked around to see if anyone else had noticed the potential incendiary of a faux pas, that was thankfully caught in his throat, in what was the 'tinderbox' atmosphere of the Chapman that night.

A firm was in and nobody was going to fuck with those boys... I've never seen them before but ColonelDecker told me that he saw them at the West Ham match they tried so start a fight with the Hammers lot and when that didn't work they went for the police, Decker saw one of them (the ringleader it seemed) nick a pair of hand cuffs off a policeman, maybe it's a trophy or something - the gooners, the herd; I don't know who they were, maybe a new lot? I think we'll be seeing a renascence in hooliganism and violence on 'what were' the terraces over the next few years... times have changed and people are getting angry.

Personally, unlike a proper riot, I think that hooliganism is all a bit homo-erotic... grown men struggling to come to terms with their sexuality and masculinity need an outlet that gives them that man-on-man contact that they so desperately crave... It wouldn't take much for a pre-arranged fight between two firms to turn into a gay orgy – just throw in some KY and poppers. Would that be so obscene? Would it be more obscene than them kicking the shit out of each other? And what would the riot police do to break them up – there wouldn't be anything in the training manual, that's for sure?! Afterwards they could compare fashion tips and the relative merits of Stone Island cardigans verses Aquascutum overcoats in a bundle. Hey – maybe that's what the handcuffs were for – a proper kinky cuffed up man love session post match!

Of course - I'm not going to tell them that, no sir – they are big, angry and proper scary geezers and I'd end up in the Wittington eating soup through a straw.

We left the Chapman at a bad time – it had pretty much cleared out as everyone was making their way to the stadium, we emerged to quite a bizarre scene. I was on the pavement on the Holloway road that I have trodden a thousand times before... except I was surrounded by the aforementioned firm singing some anti-Semitic Tottenham song. There were many police mulling around trying to shepherd them off towards the stadium for kick-off. Suddenly – it all did kick off. These boys knew the route that the Tottenham fans were taking on the way to the stadium and it was right past the Chapman, that's why they were here – and I swear that I have never seen the away fans come this way before as the away supporters pub is the other side of the stadium, Drayton Park way... I think this lot were marching down from Seven Sisters and they were led and followed by riot police vans and flanked by coppers.

On cue – the Arsenal lot went mental and attacked them with a stash of glass bottles that had been gathered from outside the off licence and bins. Bemused and fascinated I just stood there and watched – the energy was amazing... and it's always fun to see a riot copper take a half empty bottle of WKD blue to the face – after all, nobody becomes a riot policeman for a quiet night out and they seemed to love it as much as the two groups of opposing fans... the Tottenham lot looked a little concerned – but they had a plan and moved to flank the pub to cut us off. I turned around to see PieFace and the rest of the ASI doing what can only be described as 'getting the fuck out of there' – at that precise point all the cops who were mulling about organised themselves in a rear guard line behind the trouble and whipped out their extendable batons, holding them aloft in a 'I'm going to fucking twat you with this' gesture... they had a little metal bobble on the end and I was in no doubt that they would proper fucking caine if you were struck with one. Fascinating and addictive as it was from a socio/animal, and indeed, military perspective, reason kicked in and I decided that discretion was the better part of valour and stuck my back to the shop window of 'Franchi Locks and Tools' and snaked my way around the corner past the coppers and shuffled off towards the stadium... It is stupidity rather than courage to refuse to recognise danger when it is close upon you.

That's what the north London derby means to the fans.

So – what happened next on that Wednesday night was well... a bit of a let down to be honest. We gave it up and let them draw and it seemed that key members in the team were in on it. The jury is out on RvP and Walcott as they seemed to have been taken off for trying too hard. But as for Almunia, Gallas, Fabregas and Adebayor... well – I know what I saw and there had better be a good reason. Wenger must have given the orders... after all – this wasn't a case of a rouge agent, at the end of their career dropping the ball accidentally on purpose two matches in a row before being dropped for the rest of the season and sold on... Lehman.

At the end of the game Gallas and Almunia might as well have stood either side of Lennon and held his hands before swinging him '1, 2, 3 - wheeee' toddler style at the ball to give Tottenham the equaliser. It was clear that nobody cared, and nobody was trying – it was a bit of a jog around goal fest in which nobody gets hurt... fucking theatre – the trouble outside the Chapman was the only competition I saw that evening; I might as well have stayed home and watched East Enders... at least the acting would have been slightly more convincing.

Now – I can take an agreed draw under certain circumstances i.e. if we are in the group stages of a cup competition such as the Champions League and both teams only require a point to go through to the knockout stages. It makes sense to save your energy for the league; it's a dead game so if everyone is in agreement get the draw and keep something in the tank - like when we played Porto in the CL 2006 giving CSKA Moscow the Wafer cup spot... but in the league, well – one wonders what we were promised in return for making 'Arry an instant fucking hero with the deluded mug scum at our expense... one of the only up-sides to that game was that all but 3 of the Tottenham supporters in the away end had fucked off home in the 85th minute so they couldn't really rub it in. It is a busy schedule, yes, and we have Stoke away with Rob Styles officiating next which may be a physical and bent match... so I would guess a training session (with a spectacular goal count to give everyone a 'good show') for 1 guaranteed point here, in return for 3 in the return match at the Lane, might be the logical and long term route to the title?

We play Tottenham away at an interesting point in the season (see some previous post regarding Chinese New Year) so, I suppose, mathematically it would make sense with regards to a title challenge.

But that is not the point – the point is that the game on Wednesday night, regardless of winning trophies, is one of the matches that we all look forward to and it was reduced to the level of Pantomime...

...Wenger had better have a fucking plan up his sleeve to erase the memories of that game from my mind. This kind of corruption, however well intended is a slippery slope on which the idealism in the young players and fans disappears – it's seeds like this that can grow in a their minds throughout their adulthood and bloom into something ugly.

If this is the game that we are now playing then, quite frankly, the pretty football just isn't enough... the reason has overbalanced the instinct at the expense of the competition.

If this is the way we are going to play it, I want to see actual results or I'm leaving... and even if we do win something this way – the taste of victory will be a bitter/sweet moment.

It really shouldn't be this cold in summertime

Utter fucking shit.

If you needed any more fucking proof that my suspicions were fucking correct then look no further than tonight - we sold out and we sold out in style. The first half we didn't even try - the body language of the players was non-committal and the when Tottenham got the goal nobody gave a shit... not even the Tottenham players.

We scored whenever we wanted... but we didn't want to score that much.

I said to PieFace before half time:

"we are throwing this, we are scuppering the HT/FT and the AH buy on Arsenal"

That was fucking optimistic... I was still convinced that we were playing a 'bent' match with Redknapp having a word that nobody would try for 45 minutes then we would see some competition second half - I was wrong. It was an agreed draw - we could have shat on them 10-0 but we let them get 2 goals in the final minutes of the match. When do Tottenham score 4 against anyone? When do Arsenal ever concede 2 goals in the last minute?

I bet the bookies were wanking themselves silly over that.

It was a fix. We threw it... I thought the Liverpool/Pompey game would be the one of the big 4 multiple (that was so heavily pushed by the afformentioned bookies) to fail - but no... it was us and we were complicit in it. In fact - the game was structured to bring in maximum 'mug money' in play!

We are no better that fucking Man-U... at half time I was trying to reconcile that maybe Wenger was just making a deal for the busy schedule... maybe he agreed wit Redknapp that we would keep it level and only play one half - I would have still been ok with that. I could have seen some competition, some return for my support - some return for my fucking season ticket!?

When we were at 4-3 and Fabregas was taking the corner I stood up and shouted at him:

"Fabregas - come on play like you want to fucking win!"

He heard me and ignored me... I had a pang of guilt that I was reading it wrong - then we flushed the game down the toilet for Kroneke, for Redknapp and *whatever* we were promised in return... I don't care if we win the fucking league if this is the way we are going to do it - I really don't. Fuck you Wenger!

We are shit... and overall, instead of being 80 quid up I'm 30 pence down on my bets last night - why the fuck did I stay away from the Liverpool match? Jesus - disillusioned or what? I lost 30 pence and my fucking faith in this team... which is worth more Wenger, Fabregas, Gallas - take my 30 fucking pence - well done, I'm robbed!? If I can't bet my fucking bottom line on my team then who can I bet on? That's money out of my pocket, that's money I can't spend on my kids. And that's one generation that I will ensure will not grow up buying into this shit!

Sell your season tickets to the idiots in the suits who can buy into this shit... the soul has gone - wake me up when you want to fucking compete.

SHAME ON YOU ARSENAL - UTTER FUCKING SHAME!!!

I'm gonna get my face on the 6 'o' clock news..

HA – I must be cursed in my predictions, or blessed... I suspected extra time, possibly penalties – but I never expected Spain to go though! Italy OUT, that's right – say it again O-U-T!!! It was a shit old match, not just because Italy put 10 men behind the ball and hoofed it at Toni but also because Spain, who were actually trying to have a bit of a game and got nowt from the ref all match... by my reckoning they should have had 2 penalties and a number of free kicks from scoring positions around the area denied them in what was a clearly biased officiated game in the favour of Italy.

*ARSENAL NEWS*

Fabregas was awesome against Italy – after all he knows how games like this go from playing with Arsenal and going up against shit-kicker teams like Italy while getting the wrong end of decisions all season – he also knows what you have to do to get a result – i.e. don't give up, just keep playing and make your chances. He also got the 'bonus ball' in the penalty shoot out that sent the Italians home... I love it when Fabregas scores important goals – his eyes go mental like there's a wild animal trying to burst out of him. Proper passion – fucking respect that!

Do you think that he might get to start a match now?

Spain aren't out of the woods yet however as Russia will be in mid-sprint to Vienna to knock them out and then jog around the city a few times before the Russia/Germany final... after that they'll all sprint back to Russia – apart from Andrei Arshavin who'll be running at full pelt the other way pausing only momentarily to do 300 press-ups and take his vitamins.

We are all bourgeois now.

You know... just when I was beginning to thing that the standard of officialdom in the Eurovision Soccer Contest was 'ok', along comes Roberto Rosetti and Howard Webb to set the record straight – I've already covered the Webb debacle in the previous post – but it is worth bearing in mind these two officials as the tournament progresses as they are likely to change the dynamic of the match. So - think carefully before putting your cash down...

I got the Russia Vs. Greece game correct alas I didn't put any cash down... I also predicted the Turkey Vs. Czech Republic outcome (I don't know how they won as I only saw the first half and they were taking a beating) – again, no cash so no bet (see previous posts somewhere).

...This makes me a sad panda...

Let's look back at the Russia v Greece game... Roberto Rosetti gave the Russians absolutely everything. His linesmen gave Greece absolutely nothing (including the legitimate goal they scored). The words 'flag happy' spring to mind – I even think that the talking heads in the studio mentioned it – it was that obvious. For a laugh, it's worth googling "Rosetti" and "corruption" with "football" just to see what you come up with...?

The wiki for Rosetti is a laugh too with this quote:

"Rosetti also officiated at the Champions's League semi-final between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on April 30, 2008, earning the praise of UK television and radio commentators for his control of the game."

Ha ha... let's forget for a moment that commentators talk 99% shit and read that again carefully... Oh yeah!

Wait just a minute... Chelsea, Abramovic, Russia! Eee gads!

As I said – watch out for these two boys (along with their henchmen), as they are the 'hit men' of this competition and are likely to get selected at the last minute to officiate on matches where "a job" needs doing.

In case you were wondering – we live in an energy economy and Russia has all the gas... so it's best to keep them sweet... you dig?

Suggested chant for the Russians: "Stand up, if you've got all the gas, Stand up, if you've got all the gas, Stand up..."

I must apologise for not posting over the weekend... I was busy – it was Fathers day and all that bollocks – Sophia made me a nice card with stickers on it and a picture of me carrying her on my shoulders... so the card industry who invented this day in the first place did not profit from it – which is the way it should be... in fact never buy any card ever - make them, it's nice. The only reason people seem to celebrate anything these days is if there is some fucking industry built up around it and ramming it down our necks.

I spoke to the boys this morning about father's day, what they did, etc – I didn't get my dad a card as he fucked off when I was 4 - I still see him... but y'know, dhjackal has a similar patriarchal experience but he bought his old man a card anyway... Iraqi_Ali casually informed us that his dad was executed when he was 4... but added, in an attempt to fill the stunned silence:

"No, it's ok – most peoples dad's I know where executed so it's no big deal..."

It's just a question of what you are used to I suppose... where you come from and where you are going. He loves England, like it's the 'golden country'; he can leave at anytime – where as I was born into this place and it pisses me right off.

It makes you wonder though, how many fathers day cards the Baghdad branch of WHSmith sold this year? Maybe that was the reason behind the occupation?

Iraqi_Ali has many stories to tell – he told us once that in Iraq you can get a boiled sheep head for breakfast and you just pick off the face meat and drink the soup. I asked him if you ate the eyes and he told me that if you ate the eyes it was a grave insult to your host and you would probably get shot – apparently it's a round-about way of insinuating that you are banging his missus and daughters at the same time. I suspect he's taking the piss.

*ARSENAL NEWS*

Today is fixtures day! It's the day when all the randomised fixtures come out – I wouldn't bother with them too much though as there didn't seem to be much in the way of Grand Slam Sunday's or Showdown Saturday's – so Sky, Setanta and the bookies will probably get their heads together to rearrange a few things in order to get maximum control/profit.

Our first match is West Brom at home... which is going to be interesting as they will be out to kick the shit out of us. It's going to be a good marker to see how the rest of our season might go... I wonder who's officiating that one?

RIGHT – onto tonight's fixtures, let's look at the group:

Group B
P GD PTS
1 Croatia 2 2 6
2 Germany 2 1 3
3 Austria 2 -1 1
4 Poland 2 -2 1

Austria v Germany @ Vienna
Well – who's reffing? Oh – it's Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez... I don't know much about him, is he any good? Let's ask one of my Scottish colleagues:

DogFace: "What's Gonzales like as a ref?"
ObsessiveC: "Him... he's a fucking cock-riding cunt! If he sets foot in Scotland he's a fucking dead man!"

Ok – that clears that one up, Gonzales – I would avoid Scotland as a possible holiday destination for the foreseeable future. I reckon, barring a dodgy penalty in the last 10 minutes, a draw all the way. For a laugh google: "Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez" and see what comes up - I did, and I laughed!

Poland v Croatia @ Klagenfurt
Well... I would say Poland as Croatia have already qualified and will field a 'B' squad with instructions not to break a sweat. Poland has a GD of -2 so there might be some goals here... Croatia will not want to be embarrassed though and will probably put 10 behind the ball and shut up shop.

Good luck!

On candystripe legs the spiderman comes...

Oh no... disaster; I think that's it for me – my profits are down to £1.65 after being greedy and going large on laying Croatia!! Is there anyone out there that saw that one coming? I still have money in play of course after going 'on tilt' and throwing in my lot with the Dutch – I now have the most money that I have ever bet on anything riding on this considerable long shot - £25 @ 7 (average)...

...it doesn't look good for me does it?

I think I'm going to stick to playing poker (face to face rather than that internet shit) – I know where I stand with that... in poker you can play your hand against the stake in relation to the pot – in football the bookies offer up some bizarre odds that seem to make no logical sense in the long run. There are too many factors, for me anyway, to take in and make an informed decision. Still poker isn't as simple as the mathematics of its rules as you also have to be a good judge of character and have the ability to hide your agenda or actively promote a deception... people can be complex when they know what they are doing as, in reality (the reality of profit), the rules have got nothing to do with the result – some players are so good that they can win a match without even looking at their hand. One thing is for sure though, in poker, the experienced players will spot a mug and form a 'cartel' to fleece him – it's the way it works, like an unspoken rule that you only learn from experience. Nobody ever wrote it down or signed an agreement – it just evolved out of human nature.

Poker is a metaphor for life.

Still, yesterday could have been worse; I could have got on Poland to beat Austria! I knew there was something smelly about that match and just before kick-off I realised exactly what it was as a certain Mr. Howard Webb took to the pitch to assume the refereeing duties. I mean – he really is an utter twat... the first Brazilian, I mean Polish, goal was offside – and this coming from UEFA picked linesmen who are of such a high calibre that they can supposedly deduce in a split second that a goal is onside to the letter of an ever-so-fuzzy law – subsection a, paragraph iii (the injured player on his back with his hands over his eyes 4 meters from the touchline is 'active' as he didn't ask permission from the ref to leave the field of play) as in the Holland/Italy game. I mean – what? Come on UEFA - justify that one for me please – I dare you!? The second key decision which was hilarious was, in an effort to make amends for the first shit call (or to make the bookies happy); the Ronaldo McDonaldo of refs contrives a situation in the dying seconds in which he can award a flimsy penalty to Austria... he's Lovin' it!

*ARSENAL NEWS*

On a more sombre note we gooners say goodbye today to Derek Tapscott who died at 75 – he got 68 goals in 132 appearances which is a bloody good run in anyone's book. Rest in peace man – btw, if anyone can remember a chant for him then please email me so I can try to get it started at the Emirates Cup matches?

Um – onto tonight's games… can I be arsed seeing as I've got no money? Tell you what – I'll roll a dice: odds = Team A, evens = Draw, extremities = Team B. Then, baring a draw, I'll roll the dice twice to get the winning margin (if the same number comes up twice I'll roll again):

Italy v Romania @ Zurich
The die says: Romania… by 1.

Netherlands v France @ Berne
The die says: Netherlands… by 2.

It's FREE MONEY – get on it large!

Luck be a lady tonight!

Yeah, cheers for that Czech Republic – how many chances do you need to be gifted before you can equalise!? The look on Ronaldo's face, that he cast to a few key team mates, said it all... still – I can't blame Portugal for blowing the gig, the Czechs, the bookies, and I deserved to lose and lose big on that one – and true to form Lady Luck reaches out and pulls the largest strap-on off the shelf, liberally coats it in gritted swafega and pounds us silly. Sometimes, it seems, you should just go with the form book!

Still – Lady Luck wasn't a total sadistic bitch, as she game me a hug and set the record straight in match two...

The fix was most definitely on – sort of, not 'on' in a PL/PGMO way, but 'on' in a subtle 'UEFA Euro 2008' way (not to be confused with the less subtle 'UEFA Champions League' way). The weather was something else, the match should have been abandoned but as it was a randomiser in favour of the Swiss so it was 'game on' with the following equation:

Zero skill advantage (due to playing conditions) + Run of referee decisions = Desired result.

Not so! Good on you Turkey, you did me – and my wallet – proud... I'm up by about 50 pence on yesterday's games; which is a damn sight better than being down 20 by quid.

Alas this does raise another question – now that the Swiss are effectively out of it, which team should a Goon support? Let's see who's left:

Cesc Fabregas - Spain,
Robin van Persie - Netherlands,
William Gallas - France,
Lukasz Fabianski - Poland
Jens Lehmann – Germany

Lehmann isn't really a gunner anymore so strike him off, France are bonkers – so they're out... I'm not bothered about Poland (as Fabianski is on the bench) – So that leaves Spain and the Netherlands as the obvious choices. I'm going for the Netherlands as they play the pretty-pretty football with Spain as my second team as, even though they have Fabregas, they are packed to the gills with Liverpool players.

Come on you Dutch!

Right, today's matches... let us examine the group:

Group B
P GD PTS
1 Germany 1 2 3
2 Croatia 1 1 3
3 Austria 1 -1 0
4 Poland 1 -2 0

Croatia v Germany @ Klagenfurt
I reckon Germany by two goals... they will have Austria in the last match and they will not want to be in a position where they will have to smash them out in a feisty match to continue... a draw would suit both but it would be better to guarantee a place today and take it easy in game three. German efficiency!

Austria v Poland @ Vienna
Poland are the better side... but – I don't know, something doesn't sit right for me here. Austria have good fitness and a raw squad – but Poland are better... Austria are the last of the tournament hosts... so – there will be reasons why them not being eliminated at this point would be advantageous to a number of parties. But Poland are the better team and will very much want to win... and they have a good keeper.

Let's consult the odds:

Poland: 2.38
Draw: 3.40
Austria: 3.45

Hmmm... there is cash to be made here – but I might just steer clear.

[12/06/2008 09:11:31] DogFace says: well - win some lose some... how many chances did the Czechs have to equalise? Useless bastards. Still Turkey did me proud!
[12/06/2008 09:12:11] dhjackal says: and me
[12/06/2008 09:13:25] DogFace says: ha - nice one!! They were the long odds - and you could see why with the weather and the Swiss getting the run of decisions. I laughed my arse off when they nicked it at the end.
[12/06/2008 09:13:55] dhjackal says: i thought it was a draw until i saw the paper this morning
[12/06/2008 09:14:26] DogFace says: Ha ha - man it was classic... why didn't you watch it?
[12/06/2008 09:14:39] dhjackal says: i watched the 1st half - saw enough
[12/06/2008 09:15:17] DogFace says: The second half was better - the first half was slapstick football.
[12/06/2008 09:15:29] dhjackal says: i know, laughable
[12/06/2008 09:15:33] DogFace says: I've had games called off playing in better conditions!
[12/06/2008 09:15:41] dhjackal says: who you going with today?
[12/06/2008 09:15:59] DogFace says: It's going to take some thought...
[12/06/2008 09:16:19] dhjackal says: i had 100% record y'day
[12/06/2008 09:17:08] dhjackal says: Germand and Poland double
[12/06/2008 09:17:10] DogFace says: Yeah - you did well... although the first match looked to be an agreed draw - they just fucked up the gig.
[12/06/2008 09:17:12] dhjackal says: £10
[12/06/2008 09:17:26] dhjackal says: 3-1 is not an agreed draw
[12/06/2008 09:17:40] DogFace says: It went wrong.
[12/06/2008 09:17:50] dhjackal says: no
[12/06/2008 09:17:52] DogFace says: Yes.
[12/06/2008 09:17:55] dhjackal says: you went wrong
[12/06/2008 09:17:58] DogFace says: No... and yes.
[12/06/2008 09:18:08] dhjackal says: i think youi'll find it is a YES
[12/06/2008 09:18:16] dhjackal says: you fucked up the gig
[12/06/2008 09:18:18] dhjackal says: YOU
[12/06/2008 09:18:39] DogFace says: It was obvious... but I'm glad in a way as Portugal were the better team and it serves the Czechs right for being too shit to score despite being gifted 20+ chances to do so.
[12/06/2008 09:19:11] DogFace says: Did you see the last goal? The look on ronaldo's face?
[12/06/2008 09:19:47] DogFace says: Did he look happy... of did he look a bit sheepish?
[12/06/2008 09:20:04] DogFace says: In fact none of the goals were particularly celebrated...
[12/06/2008 09:20:28] dhjackal says: whatever
[12/06/2008 09:20:44] dhjackal says: your deluded
[12/06/2008 09:20:55] DogFace says: It's good though as I want to see Turkey smash the Czechs and go through... should make for a good match!
[12/06/2008 09:21:10] DogFace says: How can you say I'm deluded?
[12/06/2008 09:21:25] DogFace says: Go back to your Panini sticker album you fucking moron!
[12/06/2008 09:22:11] dhjackal says: HELLO?
[12/06/2008 09:22:22] dhjackal says: you thought it was a "nailed on" "fixed" DRAW
[12/06/2008 09:22:28] dhjackal says: it turned out to be 3-1
[12/06/2008 09:22:32] DogFace says: It was an agreed draw – there's no such thing as a "nailed on" result.
[12/06/2008 09:22:44] dhjackal says: and now you say they "didn't mean to score" the 3 goals
[12/06/2008 09:22:51] dhjackal says: course it was
[12/06/2008 09:22:53] DogFace says: Yes - it went wrong - it was so obvious, I don't know how you couldn't see it from watching the match?
[12/06/2008 09:23:04] DogFace says: The body language of the players...
[12/06/2008 09:23:05] dhjackal says: i didn't know why i bother
[12/06/2008 09:23:11] DogFace says: …the "kick-about" attitude.
[12/06/2008 09:23:23] dhjackal says: no
[12/06/2008 09:23:24] DogFace says: You need to watch a little closer.
[12/06/2008 09:23:25] dhjackal says: it was easy
[12/06/2008 09:23:27] dhjackal says: easy
[12/06/2008 09:23:33] DogFace says: Yes it was...
[12/06/2008 09:23:34] dhjackal says: like i said it would be
[12/06/2008 09:23:42] DogFace says: ...because nobody was trying!
[12/06/2008 09:23:42] dhjackal says: that's why they won 3-1
[12/06/2008 09:23:52] dhjackal says: because portugal are MUCH better
[12/06/2008 09:23:57] dhjackal says: making it easy
[12/06/2008 09:23:59] DogFace says: Yes they are much better.
[12/06/2008 09:24:01] dhjackal says: for them to win
[12/06/2008 09:24:02] DogFace says: I will agree.
[12/06/2008 09:24:07] dhjackal says: no agreed draw
[12/06/2008 09:24:12] DogFace says: But the result does not tell the whole story – it was 2-1 right up until the last minute and Portugal were letting them attack again and again.
[12/06/2008 09:24:12] dhjackal says: just an easy win
[12/06/2008 09:24:20] dhjackal says: and was always going to be
[12/06/2008 09:24:27] DogFace says: Err - why are you defending this match?
[12/06/2008 09:24:36] dhjackal says: i'm not - i'm defending my prediction
[12/06/2008 09:24:45] DogFace says: Yes you are, besides – your prediction came true?
[12/06/2008 09:25:00] dhjackal says: and your nonsencial arguement that the result was a mistake
[12/06/2008 09:25:19] DogFace says: You think that if you admit that there might be the slightest whiff of corruption in a game that your team do so well out of then the whole illusion might fall apart?
[12/06/2008 09:25:46] dhjackal says: no
[12/06/2008 09:25:49] DogFace says: Yup.
[12/06/2008 09:25:51] dhjackal says: i think you need to let it go
[12/06/2008 09:25:56] dhjackal says: get another line
[12/06/2008 09:26:01] DogFace says: I think you need you open your mind.
[12/06/2008 09:26:01] dhjackal says: this one is boring me
[12/06/2008 09:26:13] DogFace says: Then why don't you let it go...
[12/06/2008 09:26:22] DogFace says: ...and stop trying to convince me that I'm wrong?
[12/06/2008 09:26:31] dhjackal says: your right
[12/06/2008 09:26:33] dhjackal says: i will
[12/06/2008 09:26:34] DogFace says: thanks
[12/06/2008 09:27:47] DogFace says: right
[12/06/2008 09:27:51] DogFace says: on to business
[12/06/2008 09:27:52] dhjackal says: ok
[12/06/2008 09:27:56] dhjackal says: lets hear it
[12/06/2008 09:28:11] dhjackal says: who's "fixed" what today?
[12/06/2008 09:28:46] DogFace says: I reckon Germany will go out to win.
[12/06/2008 09:28:54] dhjackal says: look
[12/06/2008 09:28:56] dhjackal says: Germany and Poland
[12/06/2008 09:28:59] dhjackal says: end of
[12/06/2008 09:29:02] DogFace says: although, as yesterday, a draw would suit both...
[12/06/2008 09:29:11] dhjackal says: well you get on the draw then
[12/06/2008 09:29:16] DogFace says: But I can't see Germany wanting that
[12/06/2008 09:29:19] dhjackal says: i'm sticking with Germany and Poland
[12/06/2008 09:29:25] DogFace says: Reasons? How many goals?
[12/06/2008 09:29:37] dhjackal says: they are the best 2 teams
[12/06/2008 09:29:45] DogFace says: Germany by... 2 goals?
[12/06/2008 09:29:48] dhjackal says: i've already got £5 on each
[12/06/2008 09:30:52] DogFace says: I'm thinking that maybe Austria
[12/06/2008 09:31:09] DogFace says: dunno - might not get on that match.
[12/06/2008 09:31:24] DogFace says: I think it's going to be close.
[12/06/2008 09:31:33] DogFace says: Austria seemed to have great fitness capable of getting late goals - what's the Poland fitness like?
[12/06/2008 09:32:25] DogFace says: Game 1 - Germany to beat Croatia by 2 goals.
[12/06/2008 09:32:42] DogFace says: HT/FT Germany/Germany
[12/06/2008 09:32:44] dhjackal says: Germany & Poland
[12/06/2008 09:32:50] dhjackal says: that's it
[12/06/2008 09:33:03] DogFace says: Man ...not sure about the second match...
[12/06/2008 09:33:13] DogFace says: don't think it's quite so clear cut - I wouldn't risk the double.
[12/06/2008 09:46:06] DogFace says: what odds did you get on Poland?
[12/06/2008 09:46:28] dhjackal says: donno
[12/06/2008 09:46:34] dhjackal says: what are they?
[12/06/2008 09:47:10] DogFace says: Just checking..
[12/06/2008 09:49:05] DogFace says: The network is quite busy... you got the java client on your phone yet?
[12/06/2008 09:49:14] dhjackal says: no
[12/06/2008 09:49:23] dhjackal says: did it all online last night
[12/06/2008 09:49:54] DogFace says: Yeah it can cause problems having 24/7 access to a betting exchange - particularly when you are pissed.
[12/06/2008 09:50:06] dhjackal says: :)
[12/06/2008 09:50:28] DogFace says: I remember Scottish_Darran telling me he was pissed up and stuck a grand on a rugby match.
[12/06/2008 09:50:37] dhjackal says: he did
[12/06/2008 09:50:42] dhjackal says: luckily he won
[12/06/2008 09:51:07] DogFace says: Nutcase!
[12/06/2008 09:51:57] DogFace says: Iraqi_Ali is brewing up some mega-coffee if you and NickLeFranc are interested?
[12/06/2008 09:52:06] dhjackal says: Mmmm
[12/06/2008 09:52:12] dhjackal says: that stuff is dangerous!
[12/06/2008 09:52:12] DogFace says: Yeah - might brew a pot of Silver Needles instead...

Above the sound of ideologies clashing

Hello again, now is that crazy time of the season where the transfer rumours are flying... should I touch on them? Yeah – go on then!

Inbox:

Samir Nasri from Marseille = Reassuringly expensive.
Miguel Veloso from Sporting Lisbon = This boy just wants some Premiership action i.e. wages – but feisty and Flaminiesque!
Alberto Aquilani from Roma = His scumbag agent is just trying his luck.
Sebastian Frey from Fiorentina = Well, we need a goal keeper and this is the only one on the radar so far.
Yaya Toure from Barcelona = Fan speculation – on our wish list so why not sell some papers off the back of it?
Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn = Yeah… only if Ade goes (see below)... and even then – I doubt it.
Hatem Ben Arfa from Lyon = Apparently this is likely, although it’s all gone quiet over there regarding agreeing a fee.
Lilian Thuram from Barcalona = At 36, you’re having a laugh... unless it’s in the run up for a coaching position?
Mauro Zárate from Al-Sadd (On loan to Birmingham) = Overpriced and I doubt that we’ll start taking players on-loan.
David Villa from Valencia = Team speculation (Top of Fabregas' wish list but if he’s coming to the EPL then Abramovich outbid us to the tune of 25 million)

Outbox:

Kolo Toure = Media speculation in order to destabilise the team relationship with Gallas... again!
Emmanuel Adebayor = The Daily Hate Mail stirring it up.
Alexander Hleb = Agent taking the piss – but show us the money... and we’ll consider it.
Matthieu Flamini = Champions League, you’re having a laugh! Have fun being second fiddle to Gattusso and playing FC Shitskivich in the UEFA cup… mug!

Returns:

Carlos Vela = So long Osasuna and thanks for all the fish! Will the wonder boy deliver? Will he get his visa?! Watch out for this lad- he's going to shine.

We should also consider who is going to be stepping up from the reserves next season... it is fair to say that the youth system is maturing now and producing the goods – will we see a select few get their chance to shine in the League and FA Cup? I certainly hope so.

While we are on the subject of rumours The Joker emailed me again with this rather depressing summation of the recent goings on behind closed doors:

“Hi DogFace, With Hill Wood's change of position, it looks set to us to be a straight fight for control between Kroenke and Usmanov. Although the former is marginally preferable from your point of view, both represent selling out to the gambling markets. Good news? Depends on your perspective - it will mean you will be allowed a shot of the title.”

He’s usually right but I hold out hope of the board being able to keep a leash on this hyena. I for one will be livid if he comes into the board room playing the ‘saviour’ and spending money we don’t have i.e. borrowing the funds from one of his mates in the lodge, spending it on overpriced brats and securing the loan on the club as an asset – look at Man-U, 764 million quid in debt and still spending!! I’m quite sure that SAF doesn’t give a fuck as he’s set to retire with a fat cheque and a bronze bust in honour of his ‘genius’ before the bailiffs kick the doors down and raid the stolen goods in the trophy cabinet. Manure fans would have you believe that this spending is some form of ‘generosity’ from Malcom Glazier... no – this is DEBT and a dirty great big global recession is peeking its head just around the corner.

Check out the economics - the cost of living is going up, inflation is going up (therefore interest rates can’t be held down) the twittering, prawn sandwich munching, middle classes who took out the stupid self assessment mortgages on their stupid fucking houses in an attempt to outdo each other are reaping it big time and are going under left right and centre – and remind me... who is it that buys all your season tickets these days?

Warning – your club could be at risk if you fail to keep up repayments on a loan secured against it.

[20/05/2008 10:45:13] DogFace says: Hmmm... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7409979.stm - Pitch is fucked for tomorrow.
[20/05/2008 10:45:34] DogFace says: Randomising factor #1 in place ;-)
[20/05/2008 10:45:44] dhjackal says: should suit our long ball game then
[20/05/2008 10:45:58] DogFace says: And the 'hoof it at Drogba' game.
[20/05/2008 10:46:08] dhjackal says: yeah
[20/05/2008 10:46:16] dhjackal says: after all we don't play footaball
[20/05/2008 10:46:25] dhjackal says: and only won the league by luck
[20/05/2008 10:46:28] DogFace says: You play better football than chelsea
[20/05/2008 10:46:35] dhjackal says: thanks
[20/05/2008 10:46:39] DogFace says: And it wasn't luck - you cheated!
[20/05/2008 10:46:43] DogFace says: :-D
[20/05/2008 10:46:47] dhjackal says: we won!
[20/05/2008 10:48:11] DogFace says: Ooh - listen to the interview... you boys have got the 'winning dressing room' over 90% of the teams who have that dressing room win... apparently.
[20/05/2008 10:48:26] dhjackal says: that's it then
[20/05/2008 10:48:36] dhjackal says: might as well fuel up the bus
[20/05/2008 10:48:50] DogFace says: My cash is big on Man-u!
[20/05/2008 10:49:12] DogFace says: Or Chelsea... hmmm.
[20/05/2008 10:49:45] DogFace says: Right - OK, shit pitch which means low scoring game - draw in 90 minutes and Man-u to nick it in extra time.
[20/05/2008 10:50:20] DogFace says: HT/FT Manu/Draw – the Chavs to equalise with a dodgy decision.
[20/05/2008 10:50:52] DogFace says: You will have the better fitness though - so if it goes past 90 minutes they'll start cramping up.
[20/05/2008 10:51:41] DogFace says: The chavs will probably want to take it to penalties though - so might be a dull game.
[20/05/2008 10:52:15] dhjackal says: i guess we'll find out tomorrow
[20/05/2008 10:52:27] DogFace says: Yeah man - you got any cash on it?
[20/05/2008 10:52:36] dhjackal says: no
[20/05/2008 10:52:38] DogFace says: What's your read of the game?
[20/05/2008 10:52:46] dhjackal says: we're going to win
[20/05/2008 10:52:50] DogFace says: How?
[20/05/2008 10:52:54] dhjackal says: don't care
[20/05/2008 10:52:57] DogFace says: Ha – fair enough.
[20/05/2008 10:54:26] DogFace says: If it goes to penalties and Ronaldo chokes I hope you don't mind if I take the piss the next day?
[20/05/2008 11:41:30] DogFace says: Good job you're not going – check it out: "Anyone planning on excessive drinking in Moscow, though, has been warned against it.
The city has special 'drink police' who travel around with mobile cells, looking for drunks, and if those cells are full, offenders risk being taken to 'sobering houses'."
[20/05/2008 11:42:43] dhjackal says: what a load of shit
[20/05/2008 11:43:00] DogFace says: You'd be banged up in a mobile cell!
[20/05/2008 11:43:14] dhjackal says: probably
[20/05/2008 11:43:20] DogFace says: or taken to a sobering house - WTF is a sobering house?
[20/05/2008 11:43:21] dhjackal says: they have those in Oz
[20/05/2008 11:43:35] DogFace says: Really? Blimey!
[20/05/2008 11:44:15] DogFace says: Check it out: "Slovakian Lubos Michel will referee the match - the man who officiated the Champions League semi-final between Chelsea and Liverpool in 2005, when Luis Garcia was controversially award the goal that saw the Reds to the final."
[20/05/2008 11:45:14] DogFace says: The ref has form... one wonders who the highest bidder was?
[20/05/2008 11:45:17] DogFace says: (rofl)
[20/05/2008 11:45:17] DogFace says: Hey – wasn’t that the boy who fucked Ghana against Brazil in the 2006 World Cup?
[20/05/2008 11:45:34] dhjackal says: (finger)

Thursday, 15 May 2008

There may be trouble ahead.

Well – what a week it’s been, or turning out to be; Edelmann has been given his marching orders (but we already knew that) – what we didn’t know was why. The press were none the wiser and proceeded to speculate and generally make shit up in order to plump a few column inches. Now, new information comes to light!

The Joker emailed me the other day, totally unexpected as I had assumed that his focus would have been busied away on projects and other such stuff, but true to his word he got back to me and, among other things, he said this:

“BTW, we delayed our contact of ****** following Edelmann's resignation. There is a view that this is a significant development regarding Fat Boy. What do you reckon?”

Now - when The Joker isn’t sure then you know that the board are playing things close to their chest. The Joker has a finger, or at least someone else’s finger, in chicken balti pies (or the vegan equivilant), up and down the land. I replied:

"I would, through my ever rose tinted glasses, hope that Edelmann was caught cosying up to Jabba and Dein (that little goblin creature who dances around Jabba cackling while he eats frogs) and 'let go'. I hope. I don't know. Um. There would have to be a sea-change of attitude in the board to bring in the money - but that's the way money works, it bangs on the door relentless mocking your integrity until it wears down your resolve."

Three minutes later the news broke that a certain Mr. Stan Kroenke was sniffing around a seat on the board. Just what is going on? We have gone from: “We don’t need your money!” to – “We want your protection!”. Money and protection... anyone see a connection?

The ever straight talking Colonel_Decker from the Facebook Intelligentsia group postulated this analogy:

“Arsenal are the gorgeous sexy girl in the nightclub and these two are the men inside with their eyes on her. They are using different tactics, Usmanov is striding up all pissed and confident slapping her arse and buying her mates rounds of Champagne and telling her how fit she is and what he wants to do to her. Where as Kroenke has approached politely offering to buy a cocktail hoping to impress a gentlemanly impression on her. He hopes that by not pushing things too far she will approach him wanting him to 'pretend to be her boyfriend' to protect her from the loaded loud guy who keeps rubbing his 'half a nasty' against her leg. But beware young sexy attractive Lady, ultimately they both just want the same thing, to fuck you.”

Personally – I think that the board are walking a tightrope here... we’re going to get slipped some rhohipnol and spit-roasted in the car park if we’re not careful and for no other provocation than looking sexy as sin in red and white. These men are scum – make no mistake... Let’s hope the ‘Lady in the nightclub’ can cock-tease the two potential suitors into a brawl in which either they both get ejected by the bouncers or realise the pent-up homo eroticism of the situation and jack each other off in the bogs leaving the Lady with nothing left to do but hit the floor and boogie.

Let’s take a moment here to consider the goings on at Eastlands and examine in detail the pitfalls of giving up your arse to the first psychopath that wops it on the table, political realities aside, this is pretty much how it went:

Thaksin buys some flowers for Man City off a gypo at the traffic lights.
Thaksin gets Man City drunk.
Thaksin declares his love for Man City.
Thaksin promises Man City the world.
Thaksin fucks Man City.
Thaksin makes Man City his crack-whore.
Thaksin pimps out Man City to whoever wants it.
Thaksin dumps Man City.

To all you City fans who welcomed this man as your saviour, you reap what you sow. But hey - you're in the Wafer Cup next season for finishing an impressive sixth in the Premier League fair play table (everyone else had already qualified). Soooo... while there’s (blue) moonlight, and music and love and romance...

...let’s face the music and dance!

[15/05/2008 09:25:58] dhjackal says: maybe you are right after all
[15/05/2008 09:26:09] DogFace says: What might I be right about?
[15/05/2008 09:26:15] dhjackal says: match fixing
[15/05/2008 09:26:15] dhjackal says: Avram Grant seems to agree with you
[15/05/2008 09:26:22] DogFace says: Oh Christ - now I know I'm in trouble when he agrees with me!
[15/05/2008 09:26:37] DogFace says: Link me bad boy.
[15/05/2008 09:26:48] dhjackal says: it's in all the papers this morning
[15/05/2008 09:27:01] DogFace says: What's he said?
[15/05/2008 09:27:01] dhjackal says: saying that the ref gave Man Utd the title
[15/05/2008 09:27:19] DogFace says: Ha ha ha - the fucking gall of the cunt!!
[15/05/2008 09:27:31] dhjackal says: that's what i thought
[15/05/2008 09:27:46] DogFace says: I agree with him - but they would be battling with Everton for a CL place if it wasn't for all the match fixing they have done!!!
[15/05/2008 09:27:46] dhjackal says: i hope we win the CL with a dodgy penalty now
[15/05/2008 09:28:05] dhjackal says: some you get some you don't
[15/05/2008 09:28:14] DogFace says: ...right...
[15/05/2008 09:28:31] DogFace says: This is in the run up to the final, obviously it's a ‘pre-emptive spin’.
[15/05/2008 09:29:23] dhjackal says: your right - lump on United
[15/05/2008 09:29:30] DogFace says: Chelsea are probably going to win on dodgy ref decisions and then hold their hands up and say "Hey, it all evens out".
[15/05/2008 09:29:59] DogFace says: Going to check the sports pages now...
[15/05/2008 09:30:08] dhjackal says: (nod)
[15/05/2008 09:30:49] DogFace says: ...nothing on BBC that I can see...
[15/05/2008 09:31:19] DogFace says: Oh hang on... it's hidden away down the headlines.
[15/05/2008 09:31:58] DogFace says: "In England there are some very good referees - but there are some, a few of them, you can influence,"
[15/05/2008 09:32:19] DogFace says: He should know as he's 'influenced' most of them!!!
[15/05/2008 09:35:42] dhjackal says: (smirk)
[15/05/2008 10:09:09] DogFace says: This is very interesting indeed... I wonder what Chelsea are up to - either this is a desperate attempt to curry favour with the CL ref's after they failed to buy them (I doubt it as in a fair game they would lose) or it's an attempt to put the thought that 'Chelsea deserve it' and 'Chelsea don’t cheat' in the public mind to dampen any hoo-haa if there are any dodgy decisions in the favour of the Chavs.
[15/05/2008 10:23:16] dhjackal says: Mmmm
[15/05/2008 10:23:27] dhjackal says: i guess we'll find out on Wednesday
[15/05/2008 10:29:46] DogFace says: I await a Fergie response - he won't be able to help himself!
[15/05/2008 10:31:16] DogFace says: he's probably reading the papers now over his cornflakes - his hands shaking like crazy...
[15/05/2008 10:31:28] dhjackal says: i doubt it
[15/05/2008 10:31:38] DogFace says: ...then he has his triple scotch and the shakes calm down a bit!
[15/05/2008 10:31:55] dhjackal says: he's probably cleaning all the medals in his trophy cabinet - too busy to read the papers
[15/05/2008 10:32:26] DogFace says: I hope he doesn’t do it with his breath and a tissue or they'll melt!
[15/05/2008 14:04:41] dhjackal says: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=535471&cc=5739
[15/05/2008 14:04:59] DogFace says: Yeah, yeah - old news.
[15/05/2008 14:05:06] dhjackal says: raped!
[15/05/2008 14:05:17] dhjackal says: at least it won't be by your own

[15/05/2008 14:05:37] DogFace says: We're pitting one fat pig against the other – although it doesn’t look good.
[15/05/2008 14:05:40] DogFace says: :-(

Tuesday, 13 May 2008

So this is Christmas...

The season is now officially over and we are once again without trophies – we did, however, play some proper football!

In years to come I wonder if anyone will remember this and talk about the Arsenal team of 2007-2008 being the best team that ever was not to win anything... will anyone ever know this or will the kids of the future just look at the form book and think we were shit?

No chance – those glorious games where we played total football will be scrunched up cast into the memory hole quicker than the Fett gets sucked into a Sarlacc... (you geek).

And much like Lucas and his disgraceful CGI tentacles; for the sake of ultimate profit, history itself will be retrofitted with the convenient truths of the boys with the cash who are clearly running this dirty little show.

So what do we Gooners have to look forward to this summer?

Hmmm... well – Flamini has gone and Hleb will probably go too... we’ll sign Ben Arfa (apparently) – or some billionaire might just spunk up some more cash and nick him at the last minute. Plus we will get another player with experience from another Premiership side!

*oooh – we wonder who* (seriously – I’ve no idea, not like Wenger at all)

I’m in two minds about Flamini... he clearly knows that, now Berlusconi is back in power, AC Milan will probably do the double – added to that they are offering him a sack of cash to train less, play every other game and not get kicked as much. What would you do? Sign for fucking Arsenal – that’s what I would do... little turd!

Hleb got outrageously tapped up by Inter and his agent is just an odious little cunt of the highest order – although, I do actually understand why Hleb would want to leave. I can’t blame him for not wanting to get kicked in the air all season long with no protection from the ref whatsoever. Thanks to the BBC’s ‘ban Hleb’ campaign masquerading as a match review; that slap on Murty was probably his final comment - well said... if a foreigner slaps an Englishman who deserves a slap the media will hang him. If an Englishman ruins a foreigner because he’s ‘a bit tricky’ then the media will say ‘ooh, what a terrible accident, you must be feeling rotten – have a cup of milky tea Mr. Taylor with two sugars, poor thing’.

Emirates cup here we come!

[12/05/2008 09:25:12] dhjackal says: one word
[12/05/2008 09:25:15] dhjackal says: CHAMPIONS

[12/05/2008 14:32:45] dhjackal says: through the fair play league
[12/05/2008 14:32:56] DogFace says: Really... I thought city had it in the baggie?
[12/05/2008 14:33:08] dhjackal says: Dunne got sent off y'day
[12/05/2008 14:33:18] DogFace says: Interesting - does that change anything though?
[13/05/2008 11:59:23] DogFace says: Ha - I see expectations of a classic encounter among the fans are running high:
[13/05/2008 11:59:27] DogFace says: http://www.thespoiler.co.uk/index.php/2008/05/13/chelsea-return-5000-champions-league-tickets

[13/05/2008 12:01:52] dhjackal says: and that's without hotel or ticket for the game
[13/05/2008 12:02:07] dhjackal says: it's a fucking joke
[13/05/2008 12:02:18] DogFace says: Sleep rough – it should be nice and warm in Moscow this time of year.
[13/05/2008 12:02:23] dhjackal says: UEFA are a bunch of cunts
[13/05/2008 12:02:44] dhjackal says: to be honest i'm not worried about accommendation
[13/05/2008 12:02:57] dhjackal says: it's the £1000+ for flights and 3 days off work
[13/05/2008 12:03:10] dhjackal says: it'd cost me £2k easy
[13/05/2008 12:03:12] DogFace says: What - so you’re considering going?
[13/05/2008 12:03:17] dhjackal says: course
[13/05/2008 12:04:10] DogFace says: You would pay 2 grand and travel halfway around the world to watch your team get robbed blind by a shit Chelsea side?
[13/05/2008 12:04:27] dhjackal says: or see them win the champions league
[13/05/2008 12:05:04] DogFace says: True... true - that could happen also.
[13/05/2008 12:05:24] dhjackal says: exactly
[13/05/2008 12:05:30] DogFace says: But I doubt it.
[13/05/2008 12:05:42] dhjackal says: you doubt a lot of things
[13/05/2008 12:05:48] DogFace says: Good luck to you though - as Man-u are the better team.
[13/05/2008 12:05:58] dhjackal says: thanks
[13/05/2008 12:06:44] DogFace says: You realise that Roman is going to be spunking cash on this one - no holes barred to gain an advantage... and it's in Moscow - that's what would worry me if I was a manure fan.
[13/05/2008 12:06:57] dhjackal says: it does
[13/05/2008 12:07:06] dhjackal says: but you've just got to get on with it and hope we stick 2 goals in quick time
[13/05/2008 12:07:26] dhjackal says: and don;'t get fucked - if we do we do
[13/05/2008 12:07:36] DogFace says: Backs to the wall big time!
[13/05/2008 12:07:40] DogFace says: He has friends in some very high places over there.
[13/05/2008 12:07:41] dhjackal says: probably
[13/05/2008 12:07:55] dhjackal says: hopefully Vidic will ruin Drogba
[13/05/2008 12:07:55] DogFace says: Start a riot if you get robbed - make some history – reds Vs blues, proper old school!
[13/05/2008 12:08:05] dhjackal says: not over there

Another sunny day

Greed is a randomising factor.

Allowing players to buy out their contracts will effectively not allow clubs to plan for their future – unless, of course, you are a club that happens to have a billionaire owner. These are the same ‘billionaire owned’ clubs that are pushing up the average player wage in the first place.

Share value goes up ergo wages go up - the cycle continues, the bubble inflates...

How many players can these clubs have? How much money can they spend before the product, that is the club, is mature and ripe for selling? Then what? Who pays the wages and pampers the egos of the spoilt brats then?

Think long term - this is one of many problems in football today the bubble is going to burst - fact - basic economics, basic common sense.

The reason I go to watch football is to watch a proper game of football - admittedly, it's getting hard these days as the greed of the few have encroached on the pleasure of the many. In today’s game, contrary to what you are told, trophies and titles don't really mean that much anymore... and in all honesty don’t I think that they ever really did, not amongst the fans of the club who gave their support ‘in sickness and in health’.

Football is a working class sport, an escape, a joy and a fantasy – it provides dizzying moments of tribal ecstasy that you can enjoy with your fellow man. It can also give you soul crushing disappointments, worse than any Greek tragedy, which you and the thousands around you can only grieve alone. Those moments are important, much more important than what is now considered important i.e. ‘gloating rights’ to bully and demean supporters of other clubs.

It’s only since the culture-vapid prawn sandwich brigade started entering the grounds that things have got as bad as they have i.e. performance being measured in terms of results – fuck football – it is results that matter and it’s results that must be achieved by any means necessary. The gentrification of the terraces marches on at a frightening pace – the loyal fan is bullied out and has his enjoyment marred by the armies of imbeciles they have to suffer; sat next to them yakking on their mobiles or talking business with the culture-vapid imbecile sat beside him. Not only that – there is something wrong with the football that we are watching, it’s not right – the core fan base are educated enough in the game and, unlike the idiot beside him, he knows when something is amiss. He can’t relate to the players he supports. He can’t understand the decisions by the officials. He doesn’t know why his club has to have a new manager every season. Above all, he doesn’t believe in it anymore - his culture has been usurped, mutilated and effectively stolen. The beautiful game is now no more than an excel spreadsheet in a boardroom with an associated computer generated line graph.

The kleptoparasitic culture-vapid nuevo riche have robbed us and mutated the game to fit with their short term philosophies:

We need results i.e. trophies:

The traditional way = Hard work, vision, striving for perfection.
The kleptoparasitic way = Pay someone to do it.

Which neatly brings us back to the start of this post - greed is a randomising factor, honour is the exception rather than the rule, everyone has a price, loyalties can be turned and contracts can be broken.

The cycle continues – the bubble inflates.

[09/05/2008 14:49:55] DogFace says: Here's a quote for you - an actual quote:
"I am very happy here. Reports which suggest I have threatened to quit are rubbish. I love the club and the fans. We have a great set of players here with a fantastic team spirit. We have had a good season but next season we want to go one better by winning a trophy."
[09/05/2008 14:50:35] DogFace says: Why don't the media ever fucking stir it up with your club!?
[09/05/2008 14:51:37] DogFace says: ...oh yeah - you don't have some fat Russian cunt banging on your door trying to destabilise and unsettle the shareholders so he can buy you out!
[09/05/2008 14:53:19] dhjackal says: course they do
[09/05/2008 14:53:30] dhjackal says: every other week we're selling Ronaldo, Brown is leaving or something else

[09/05/2008 14:54:03] DogFace says: Hang on - one of your players DID rape someone.

[09/05/2008 14:55:05] DogFace says: I don't see him puffing his chest out and doing stepovers then...
[09/05/2008 14:55:12] DogFace says: ...greasy little twat.
[09/05/2008 14:55:28] DogFace says: He saves that shit for Derby!
[09/05/2008 14:55:41] dhjackal says: yeah yeah
[09/05/2008 14:55:48] dhjackal says: we rested him against you and Rooney then Hargreaves steps up and
[09/05/2008 14:56:04] dhjackal says: bang
[09/05/2008 14:56:24] DogFace says: What - "bang" - the ref gives you a pen!?
[09/05/2008 14:56:35] DogFace says: The 48th one @ OT this season...
[09/05/2008 14:56:40] DogFace says: (chuckle)
[09/05/2008 14:57:03] DogFace says: So – was it Hargreaves that slipped him the bung?
[09/05/2008 14:58:40] dhjackal says: don't care, we won
[09/05/2008 14:58:46] dhjackal says: end of
[09/05/2008 14:58:55] dhjackal says: and Ronaldo had to take the peno twice
[09/05/2008 14:59:49] DogFace says: Well - you boys earned it then
[09/05/2008 14:59:57] dhjackal says: i know, thanks
[09/05/2008 15:00:00] DogFace says: You played us off the park with your 'double pen' - well played.
[09/05/2008 15:00:14] dhjackal says: played you off the park anyway
[09/05/2008 15:00:16] dhjackal says: 3 times

[09/05/2008 15:01:06] DogFace says: you kicked us off the park!
[09/05/2008 15:01:21] dhjackal says: that too

[09/05/2008 15:01:26] dhjackal says: kicked

[09/05/2008 15:01:59] DogFace says: 'played' ha ha!
[09/05/2008 15:02:33] DogFace says: Mate... when you watch your team 'play football' do you ever look at what the other team is doing or just watch the score board?
[09/05/2008 15:06:37] dhjackal says: oh i watch alright
[09/05/2008 15:07:00] dhjackal says: i watch them get embarressed, outplayed and outclassed
[09/05/2008 15:07:38] DogFace says: I know you do and then you watch them win with a dodgy penalty.
[09/05/2008 15:07:49] DogFace says: (rofl)
[09/05/2008 15:12:06] dhjackal says: now i know you don't believe that
[09/05/2008 15:13:25] dhjackal says: we've scored 4+ goals in more than 13 games this season
[09/05/2008 15:13:38] dhjackal says: including once against you
[09/05/2008 15:14:17] DogFace says: It's all numbers to you mate - fuck reality - look at the results!
[09/05/2008 15:14:41] DogFace says: Then retrofit reality to match!
[09/05/2008 15:14:47] dhjackal says: i think you need to look at some of the results
[09/05/2008 15:14:53] dhjackal says: might explain a few things
[09/05/2008 15:15:00] dhjackal says: like why you didn't win anything
[09/05/2008 15:15:06] DogFace says: What do I care about results - results can be bought - as you well know.
[09/05/2008 15:15:17] dhjackal says: here we go again
[09/05/2008 15:15:22] DogFace says: what with more truth?
[09/05/2008 15:15:27] dhjackal says: truth?
[09/05/2008 15:15:33] DogFace says: Yes.
[09/05/2008 15:15:37] dhjackal says: so if you win its all fair, if you lose you've been screw over
[09/05/2008 15:15:54] dhjackal says: if we win it's all bought?
[09/05/2008 15:15:58] DogFace says: No - if we win we will have won against the odds.
[09/05/2008 15:16:09] dhjackal says: against the odds????
[09/05/2008 15:16:16] DogFace says: yes
[09/05/2008 15:16:19] dhjackal says: your the 3rd richest team in the world
[09/05/2008 15:16:26] DogFace says: No we're not.
[09/05/2008 15:16:27] dhjackal says: why can't you "buy" relults?
[09/05/2008 15:16:42] dhjackal says: paint it whatever way you like - your not good enough
[09/05/2008 15:16:55] dhjackal says: and Wenger is struggling with his hands tied behind his back
[09/05/2008 15:16:56] DogFace says: A) we are the 3rd most highly 'Valued' team in the word – (not valued by us I might add).
[09/05/2008 15:17:07] DogFace says: B) we are too honest to cheat.
[09/05/2008 15:17:19] dhjackal says: as he takes it up the Arsenal from his own
[09/05/2008 15:17:38] dhjackal says: too honest to cheat???
[09/05/2008 15:17:43] DogFace says: Yes
[09/05/2008 15:17:46] dhjackal says: that is the funniest thing i have every heard
[09/05/2008 15:17:46] DogFace says: That's the truth.
[09/05/2008 15:17:48] dhjackal says: your deluded
[09/05/2008 15:17:58] DogFace says: You're a mug.
[09/05/2008 15:18:33] dhjackal says: no no youe a deluded fool
[09/05/2008 15:18:44] DogFace says: Here we go again - name calling.
[09/05/2008 15:18:55] dhjackal says: who's made up some random madness to explain away the truth
[09/05/2008 15:19:13] DogFace says: That's exactly what you have done...
[09/05/2008 15:19:20] DogFace says: ...worse - you buy into someone else’s random madness (usually some fuckwit commentator) and defend it!
[09/05/2008 15:19:22] dhjackal says: so you call me a mug
[09/05/2008 15:19:25] dhjackal says: then you say i'm name calling
[09/05/2008 15:19:55] DogFace says: If you re-read it - you will see that I didn't accuse you of 'name calling' - it was a statement as to the degeneration of the conversation.
[09/05/2008 15:20:10] DogFace says: But hey, any stick to beat me with and change the subject eh?
[09/05/2008 15:22:52] dhjackal says: the league and the results don't lie
[09/05/2008 15:22:53] dhjackal says: end of
[09/05/2008 15:23:14] DogFace says: Why is it... I wonder - that you are so insecure in your teams 'dominance' of the game that you have to continually rub it in other supporters faces?
[09/05/2008 15:23:20] DogFace says: You know I'm right.
[09/05/2008 15:21:23] DogFace says: End of.
